RAS Cold Pressed Oils has been perfected for decades to keep their natural aroma and flavour intact. So when the oil warms in your pan, the difference fills the kitchen.
What is Cold-Pressed?
What Does
"Cold-Pressed"
Really Mean?
Cold-pressed oil is extracted mechanically from seeds without excessive heat or chemical treatment. Instead of refining, bleaching, or deodorising the oil to make it neutral, cold pressing gently extracts it in a way that preserves its natural aroma, colour, and authentic taste.

When you switch to cold-pressed oil, the difference shows up in everyday use:

The tempering releases a richer, more natural aroma.

Spices don't get masked. They open up properly in cold-pressed oil.

Curries and gravies feel balanced instead of oily or heavy.

Traditional dishes taste closer to how they are meant to.

What is Cold-Pressed?
The Chekku Way
Step by Step
At RAS, sesame oil is made using the traditional rotary chekku method, a slower process that values the quality and texture of the oil above everything else.
Sun Drying
Sesame seeds are cleaned and dried under direct sunlight for a defined period, allowing moisture to reduce naturally before pressing begins.
Natural ProcessCleaning & Destoning
Seeds pass through a shaker and destoner system to remove dust and foreign particles ensuring only the purest seeds enter the press.
Quality AssuranceRotary Chekku Crushing
The seeds are crushed in a rotary grinder at normal temperature. Palm jaggery or sugarcane molasses is added during grinding, enhancing the oil's texture and depth of flavour.
The Heart of the ProcessTriple Filtration
The extracted oil passes through a triple filtering system removing impurities without stripping away the natural flavours, aroma, or nutrients that cold pressing preserved.
No Flavour LossQuality Check
The oil is collected in tanks and tested internally. For sesame oil, samples are sent to an AGMARK laboratory to confirm first-grade specifications before any batch is approved.
AGMARK CertifiedHygienic Packing
After approval, the oil is packed in our Kangayam facility. Available in household packs, retail formats, HoReCa supply, and bulk volumes.

What Makes Our Oils
a Healthier Choice
What Makes Our Oils a Healthier Choice
Because we avoid heat and chemicals, our oils retain what most processed oils have lost.

Nutrient Retention
Because heat and chemicals are avoided, cold-pressed oils keep more of the seed's natural nutrients and antioxidants compared to highly processed oils. What enters the seed, enters your cooking.

Heart-Friendly Fats
Cold-pressed oils contain natural unsaturated fats a fatty acids that your body recognises from traditional diets. These fats support balanced cholesterol profiles and heart-focused cooking choices.

Better Digestibility
Cold-pressed oils are easier on the body because they are less altered. They retain a structure closer to whole-seed nutrition the way our digestive systems have evolved to recognise.

Natural Antioxidants
These oils retain antioxidant compounds that help preserve the oil itself and provide the characteristic aroma and flavour that you notice when the oil first hits a warm pan.
